Labradoodles are fun loving dogs, they are also intelligent, loyal and easy to train. We begin training our puppies long before they leave for your home, so it will be natural for your puppy to continue her training the very day your puppy arrives home.
Beginning on the 3rd day of their life, each puppy born in our home begins its "Early Neurological Stimulation" exercises. These 5 exercises are performed on each puppy once a day until they reach their 16th day of life.
According to Dr. Carmen Battaglia, five benefits have been observed in canines that were exposed to the Bio Sensor stimulation exercises. The benefits noted were: 1. Improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate) 2. Stronger heart beats, 3. Stronger adrenal glands, 4. More tolerance to stress, and 5. Greater resistance to disease. In tests of learning, stimulated pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than their non- stimulated littermate." To read more about this process, please go to this page.
Because labradoodles are very intelligent, we strongly recommend starting your puppy off on the right paw; that is, let them know you are the “pack leader”, otherwise, she will fill the job vacancy. Regular daily activities, such as leash walking and house breaking, are a good way to reinforce behavioral and obedience training and your puppy will benefit from routine and discipline. If you are not inclined to train your puppy yourself, ask your veterinarian to recommend a proven trainer in your area.
The first week your puppy comes home is paramount in his continued development, a window of opportunity that should not be missed! We recommend downloading this puppy socialization/habituation schedule and systematically practicing each simple, but important, exercise.
